Call for Abstracts
The American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) invites midwives, researchers, clinicians, educators, students, and midwifery and maternal health advocates to submit abstracts for presentation at the upcoming ACNM Policy Summit and Hill Day happening May 4-5, 2026, in Washington, D.C. This summit will convene midwives and maternal health leaders from across the country to advance evidence-based policy, strengthen advocacy skills, and elevate the role of midwifery in improving maternal and reproductive health outcomes.
We seek abstracts that highlight innovative policy solutions, research, advocacy strategies, and lived experiences that inform federal and state policymaking and advance equity, access, and quality in maternity care.
Priority Topics Include (but are not limited to):
- Federal and state policy impacting midwifery practice and access to care
- Maternal health equity, racial justice, and addressing disparities
- Medicaid, reimbursement, and workforce policy
- Perinatal public health programs
- Advocacy strategies and grassroots engagement
- Implementation and outcomes of maternal health legislation
- Community-based, birth center, and rural maternity care models
- Data, research, and evaluation relevant to policy change
Presentation Formats:
- Oral presentations
- Panel discussions
Submissions from students, early-career midwives, and community-based advocates are strongly encouraged. ACNM is committed to amplifying diverse voices and perspectives, particularly those from historically marginalized communities.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
- Clearly describe objectives, methods (if applicable), policy relevance, and key takeaways.
